De-cluttering and minimalizing to get organised...

De-cluttering and minimalizing to get organised...

For quite a while now I’ve been saying I’m going to get organised and sort through the things that I own in order to get more order to the items that surround me. But every time I try to do this I get distracted so I decided to take one thing at a time and sort our one area before moving on to another. The main problem for me is paperwork and notebooks I just have way too many and Magazines from months ago that just keep sitting around my room. This is the main area for me but then there is clothes, accessories, books, CD’s etc.
These are all going to be sorted out one thing at a time but to start everything off I thought I would go through my clothes first. For me I think my clothes will be the easiest area to go through as I feel less attached to my clothes than some of the other items I own. There are however, a few items of clothing that really do mean a lot to me/hold a sentimental value so I do want to keep these with me. But for the most part my clothing does need looking through and needs a good sort out so I thought it would be a good place to start.
I don’t really own ‘too many’ pieces of clothing, most of what I own is Work wear (slightly smart/casual) and the rest is casual clothing like Jeans, T-shirts and a few more dressy tops and a few dresses and I have a few pairs of PJs and a few items of Sportswear.
Items I’m no longer keeping – (will be donating/recycling)
·      Two pairs of work Trousers
·      One Striped Cardigan
·      One loose fitting T-shirt with Triangle Design
·      One Sleep Shirt
·      One Pair of PJ/Lounge wear Bottoms
·      One ¾ Sleeve Striped T-shirt
·      One dressy Shirt in dark red
·      A couple of Jumpers mostly Knitted and one sweatshirt style Jumper
·      I also added a few more pieces to this – like a Onesie and some more Trousers and Tops

I thought that by sorting through what clothes I have I would be able to make use of my clothing better, I seem to wear all the same pieces but many have them are quite worn and really need refreshing so by going through them and donating my clothes I am still doing something good while making more room for the items that I really want to use. I am trying to do a sort of ‘Capsule Wardrobe’ with just a few key pieces that are tailored towards my personal style.
I probably should have spoken about my personal style at the beginning of this post, I’m not sure how I would describe my personal style. I’ve probably tried every kind of fashion trend but I would say that I have simple style and I love the classic shapes and colour of the 1960’s. I love Mod fashion and my favourite clothing item is my Fred Perry Parka. I purchased this the same year I went to University, I loved it that much I pretty much wore it every day and hardly ever took it off. I do love other fashion styles though I think that every decade has something great to offer, for example I love the Bohemian and Glam Rock styles of the 1970s not to mention how much I admire the New Romantic styles of the 1980s. Every decade is great and I would say that incorporating elements of each decade into your own style is something really great to do. I think this is especially good during different seasons, like using elements of 70s Bohemian style in Summer – such as wearing fringed accessories and long pendant necklaces to make an outfit look unique but also well put together.
But as my current style wearing smart trousers, a plain t-shirt/shirt and cardigan and a pair of patent Brogues is usually my ‘everyday’ go to outfit. So by going through by clothes and de-cluttering I have been able to remove the clothing that doesn’t really go with my personal style so that I can use more of the clothing that matches my personality.

I do really want to get some more pastel colour in my life though for summer I especially love anything mint!

What’s your fashion style like?

Best Wishes :)

EMPTIES - AUGUST 2015

EMPTIES - AUGUST 2015

Hello lovely readers, for today's post I wanted to share with you some of my empties from this month. I've kept these all together in a box and they have been in there for quite a while so they aren't just from one month but a few so I really wanted to share then with you.

1. The Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner - This worked really well at removing excess Makeup and dirt after cleansing and prepped the skin for moisturiser. (I written about this and some other skincare products in my last blog post :))

2. Mini Ted Baker Body Spray - This is really cute for travelling with and it smells really sweet and floral. It lasted for a quite a while too as I got it at Christmas time. I used to carry this in my bag to freshen up throughout the day.

3. Ojon Damage Reverse Serum - This is lovely! Its smells really nice and it a bit like a Lavender scent but also quite subtle I used this in the ends of my hair after washing to help tame the ends and to lock in moisture. You only need a drop or two so this small bottle lasts for a long time and it comes with a Pipette so you can get out just the right amount of product.

4. Tresemme' Instafresh Dry Shampoo For Normal To Oily Hair - I used this after washing my hair to add volume and lift up the roots but I have used this on second day hair and it has given my hair a quick refresh so I feel like I've been able to give it a quick clean. I did like this product for adding volume but it didn't really add a scent to the hair and I did need to brush it well afterwards as it sometimes left white marks in my hair but its good value and did help to freshen up my hair. I really do like Tresemme' product so I would tray anything from their range as I love how they work and the way they are scented.

5. Waitrose Pure Facial Oil - I used this at night and put a few drops on my freshly washed face - I used the Pipette to get out two drops of this oil and then rubbed my hands together before gently pressing this into the skin avoiding my eyes. I then applied my night time moisturiser.
I've never really used a serum before so I didn't want to buy anything too expensive so just thought I'd try this. It helped to soften and moisturise the skin and didn't feel too greasy. I also tried a few other product from the range but didn't really get on with them but this worked ok for me. I'm not sure if I would re-purchase it but it did work ok for me.

6. Maybeline Falsies Express Mascara - Added Volume and length which lasted all day and make my lashes look really long but it did try out quite quickly.

7. Astral Face and Body Moisturiser - I really loved this as a night cream as it added so much moisture into the skin but it does slide a bit under Makeup so I would just used this at night and not during the day. It has a clean scent to it and a little goes a long way so you don't need much to hydrate the skin.

Have you tried any of these products?

Best wishes :)

SOME OF MY MOST RECENT SKINCARE PRODUCTS...

SOME OF MY MOST RECENT SKINCARE PRODUCTS...

Hello lovely readers in today's blog post I wanted to share with you some of the most recent Skincare items I've been using and what my thought are on them. There's not too many as I like to keep my Skincare routine quite simple and just use a few items at a time. I do like using Face Masks and have tried different products but these all work really well together and are really good especially if you are travelling. (Products from left to right)

1. Simple Kind to Skin Soothing Facial Toner - I use this after cleansing my face in the morning and at the end of the day. You just need a few drops of a cotton pad and then wipe this over your face avoiding the eye area. I find this just removes any excess dirt and makeup that the cleanser may have left behind. It also lasts for a really long time as you don't need that much, it doesn't have a strong scent so that's really good and it's doesn't cost that much so it's something I probably would re-purchase.

2. Philosophy Purity Cleanser - This is just a travel size I had so I thought I would try it out before maybe buying the full size. It did last for about two weeks and lathered up really nice> It worked at quickly removing Makeup and dirt and I did like the texture of this. It wasn't strongly scented which is something I really like, so maybe I would repurchase this next summer as I am currently on the lookout for a balm.oil cleanser to moisturise my skin during the coming winter months.

3. Superfacialist By Unna Brennan Vitamins C+ Brighten Dark Circles Eye Cream - This does really  brighten up my under eye area and helps make me look more awake, I really do like this Eye Cream but only used it when I really need to, I probably use it a couple of times a week under Makeup and/or on its own. You really don't need a lot and it's not too expensive but the only problem was the lid broke on mine so I've had to use it up before it dried out but I would buy this again.

4. Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Wipes - These are great for travelling and work really well at removing Makeup or just freshening up the skin. I really like to keep a pack of Facial Wipes with me just in case I want to freshen up or remove any Makeup. I would then cleanse later on but these are great if you can't get to wash your face because you on the go or travelling.

Have you tried any of these?
Best wishes :)

Quick De-clutter/Empties Post - Part 1 - Summer 2015

QUICK DE-CLUTTER POST - PART 1 - SUMMER 2015

Hello lovely readers :) I just wanted to do a quick post to share with you what I've been using up over the past few months, I'm really trying to use up what I already own to save space and money but also to create a more minimalist environment, I have quite a few things I've either used up or decided to throw away as they are quite old or not longer work for me so I just wanted to share them with you all. I'm trying to own less and use more of what I have and be more creative that way I can create different looks without spending too much and without having too many products open at one time but for this post I wanted to share with you what I've used up most recently.

In this picture - MeMeMe Highlighter, Collection Concealer, Primark Eyeliner and a Model Co Lip Liner.

In this picture I have used up most of the Rimmel London Pink Nude Lipsitck and the Carmex Mint Lip Balm.

I also decided to throw away some of my old Makeup brushes which I've had for years as they no longer work for me and there's also a Nail File which never really worked so I decided not to keep it.

In this picture - Waitrose Pure Face Wash, Vaseline Moisturising Hand Cream, Two small Body Lotions from Sanctuary, a mini Benefit Posie Tint and a Mini Lip Balm I got in the Holiday sales last year.

I'm trying to use up what I have and become more minimalist, I like the idea of using what i have before buying more as I don't have a lot of space but love trying out new product so I can to this with the items I already own. I do love a good haul though but I will do them less often but I am always happy to review something new on my blog :)

Best wishes :)

THE NEW SCENT OF SUMMER 2015

THE NEW SCENT OF SUMMER 2015

Hello lovely readers hope your having a lovely Spring/Summer and with this in mind I though I would share with you a perfume I will most probably be using most days over this summer - its a relatively new release and was given to me as a gift for my Birthday a few months ago but I've be saving it for summer as its the perfect scent for this season.

MARC JACOBS - DAISY SORBET - I'm not that great at describing scents but this smells really fresh and sweet, its perfect for summer and the bottle is jut so lovely. It limited edition so its worth having a smell if you are looking for a new summer fragrance or just want to see what it smells like. This is my first Marc Jacobs fragrance but I would like to try more so maybe I will try one for another season.

The packaging is so cute just like all of the other Marc Jacobs Packaging - The tops of the bottle is decorated with three Daisies which are all in different colours - Purple, Pink and light Pink and the perfume itself is pink too!
I love the pretty design of the packaging the simplicity of curved glass bottle and the bright colour of each Daisy really make this bottle stand out as a decorative piece which I love - I will be using this as an accessory to decorate my room this summer - maybe keeping it on my desk or shelf so its not in direct sunlight.

What's your summer fragrance?

Best wishes :)
